A few of my favorite things...

Due to a hectic week (3 day work week means too much to do in very little time) I'm feeling super uninspired to dress well or post about fun things SO this post will be a re-post I'm doing a bit of stealing if you will.

Last week one of my favorite bloggeristas A Brit Greek did a little questionnaire about me and my jewelry line and a few of her questions prompted me to snap some shots of my favorite things so I'll just give you a teeny little insight into me.

ABG- Other than shoes, what is your wardrobe chock full of? (Note, this gal loves shoes!)

ME: Well, yes shoes are def 75-80% of my closet! But I also have an abundance of handbags. I started collecting bags when I was in college I had hundreds! Sad story - my Father accidentally put the box of handbags I had stored in the basement outside for charity to pick up! I lost literally about 100 handbags!! The one I miss most is a vintage Moschino red one. I've never seen that style again! Definitely a sad day for me, but slowly my collection has grown and I do have quite a number of handbags.

ABG: Fave dress?

ME: My deep purple Diane Von Furstenburg chiffon wrap dress that I purchased at Neiman Marcus outlet for a pretty good price. It's simple and elegant and I toughen it up with chunky belt. I love that my BF is in the background of this pic too! Typical of what happens when I'm photographing and playing dress up! Haha!

ABG: Fave Bling?

ME: I love this ring I purchased as a gift to myself when I was single. It's a big smokey topaz with a halo of pave diamonds and pave diamonds on the band. I figured if you don't have a guy to buy you sparkles just buy it yourself! It makes me feel strong and independent. I think they call those power rings? Did I just make that up? I have no idea, but I love it and I love that It was a gift from me to me!

ABG: Fave Shoes?

ME: My Chloe Black Patent "Leonessa" T-strap Mary Janes that I purchased 3 years ago. They make me feel so girlie! I wear them with thick black tights and mini skirts around the holidays, they never go out of style.

One more pair of shoes I'm loving right now are my SUPER affordable H&M lace up booties seen HERE. I still cant believe what a great deal they were at $59!!

Thanks again A BRIT GREEK for interviewing me!!! Please go take a look at her blog, its a really fun place to be!!

OLIVE OIL...

This outfit I wore the other day remedied me of a story my mother told me of my childhood. I was in the 5th grade and coming off the school bus. I was wearing a long skirt and a tee shirt, and big black combat boots. I remember the combat boots because I HAD to have them at the time but the outfit combined with the fact that I was a bit tall for my age and I had the scrawniest legs ever and my boots were about a size and a half too big ( don't ask why I used to buy my shoes big), my Dad and my Mom watched me get off the school bus and walk across the street and my dad says to my mom " here comes olive oil". He really wasn't that far off!

T-Shirt - F21 $5.80

Skirt - F21 $17.80

Boots - H&M $49.00

Its been a while since I've posted any new Justina Leigh styles! This a new simpler style I've just added to the line called "SAMSON". Wear them singularly or stack 2 or 3 for a really cool look! I'm in love with this little old NYC subway token charm, but they are available in virtually any charm or personalized with a number or initial. Check out the listing here!

Would love to know what you lovely bloggers think about this one!

Almost Ladylike...

I've been having a major obsession with ladylike blouses. Silk & chiffon loose fitting button front blouses are all I want to wear this fall!

Friday night the sweetie and I headed into the lower east side for some drinks with his brother, and one of my best friends. The weather was perfect for paring my new favorite dotted blouse from H&M with denim shorts and my over the knee socks, which kinda off set the ladylike-ness of the look.

Blouse - H&M, $24.90

Shorts - Forever 21, $17.90

Belt - Thrift Store, about $3.00

Over the knee socks - From two years ago bought on some random online site but you can get them at American Apparel for about $15.00

Boots - Forever 21, $34.90

Bag - Chanel Bought on Ebay

Necklace - Gold Key Charm Is my mothers, gold lighting bolt charm my bestie and I had made for each other back in college. Its engraved with "Lucky Star" on the back which was our little saying back then.

Absolutely COCONUTS!

Back in July I had to do a quick errand run for work. I was in desperate need of interesting necklaces to pair with some tops for the line. They couldn't be expensive but they still had to be cute and sparkly, so I go where I always go for affordable necklaces to pair with some dresses on our line STRAWBERRY in the Manhattan mall. I always do a quick browse for some comparative shopping (price points, inexpensive trims etc etc)...then......I spotted out of the corner of my eye, these lace up booties, I couldn't help it, but I needed a closer look, and then I touched and well the leather was faux, and the rest was canvas but really not bad at all!! I tried them on and very very comfy and omg they are super cute!!! Of course I needed them and at $49.00 how could I say no! I Wore them for the first time this week and a friend of mind says "OMG are those the Chloe booties from Gossip girl??" My face said it all because I had absolutely NO idea what she was talking about. Usually I know about these things! But I don't watch Gossip Girl (don't kill me!) and I guess I just missed that Chloe Runway show! Anyway, so I did purchase the Chloe knock off booties not knowingly but am SO glad I did bc I do love them, canvas and faux leather and all! And I have to say after googling the Chloe booties and the Brand of My Knockoffs "COCONUTS" I got mine for a steal because I've seen my exact ones on Mod Cloth and Endless for Over $80.00! Score for me! I may be a whole year behind but I still love em!

The best things in life are free...

On a recent trip to H&M I stumbled upon this adorable sheer dot lady like blouse. It sorta reminded me of the pretty polka dot chiffon silk blouse from the Alexa Chung for Madewell line that is completely sold out. The Best thing about this blouse is that it was buy one get one free for $17.95!! So I purchased this ivory colored one and a black one. Love them!

The top I'm obsessed with from the Alexa Chung for Madewell line that is completely sold out. The top I'm wearing above is kind of similar in the black version. I Can't wait to wear that one!

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree...

Went home for a few days to visit my family and not soon after I walked in my mom was bursting with excitement to show me her new shoes. My mom has always had great taste in shoes I guess we can see where my obsession stems from. She has more shoes than even I have! When I was able to pick up my jaw and stop drooling over her new Aldo purchase I asked if she'd like me to snap some shots and put them on my blog, upon which she let out a little giggle, scratched her nose with both hands (something my entire family knows she does when she's excited about a new purchase) grabbed her lipstick and hammed it up for the camera. Which goes to show you the apple really doesn't fall far from the tree. I seem to be a replica of my mother.....I don't mind one bit!!

SERIOUSLY?!?!?!

Ok normally I would NOT do this. I have firm stance on style. "To each his own". Blame it on PMS but I'm going to get down right bitchy about these horrific Alexander Wang "Kori" off the chain booties. I've seen them pop up on many popular style blogs, fall wish lists, and must haves. But really, I DON'T get it. There is NOTHING flattering or attractive about this boot. They look unbelievably awkward and hideous. To be perfectly honest (now here comes even more bitchiness) They sorta make me cringe at the sight of them, They are flat out ugly. Or as my father would say "FUGLY". This is one strange trend I will most certainly not be getting behind.

BUT I'll never say never. There are some things I swore I'd never wear and then one day I get the trend bug and I'm biting my tongue.

ANYWAY that was my bitchy rant for the day, my boyfriend will thank me later for letting my monthly bitch mode out on the blog and not on him :) kk love all you guys!
