Dinner with Ninjas

So as you all know Friday night was my birthday, and I knew John and I were headed out to dinner but where exactly was the surprise. When the cab pulled up I was unbelievably excited because John and I had heard of this place called Ninja downtown where your served by real Ninjas, and they do all sorts of tricks, scare you and all sorts of fun stuff. I was even MORE surprised when we were brought to the table and sitting there was my Mom, Dad, Sister and one of my best friends to celebrate with me! I couldn't believe he arranged for everyone to come! John and I had never been to this place so it was going to be a first experience for all. And while the company, and conversation, and of course the fact that it was my Bday made it one of the most perfect evenings ever, John and I just would never recommend this place for dinner to others. I really really wish I could say it was worth the super high prices but it really wasn't. Our waiter was def NOT a ninja of any sort, and the sushi was terrible. Dishes came out in flames, or smoking, which was kinda fun...but all in all, this place should really lower their prices. When you pay $8.00 for one single piece of sashimi you expect it to be ridiculously fresh, and soft and mouth watering. I Can't say it was any of those things. It didn't matter much though because I wasn't paying too much attention to the actual cuisine, I was just way to excited to be celebrating my Birthday with the closest people in my life, and so happy that John took the time to arrange everything himself. It was the most thoughtful thing anyone has ever done for me! I was touched. This was the first Birthday John and have spent together, and he went just above and beyond. I spent the rest of the weekend feeling so loved! He also surprised me with some Birthday goodies. Unfortunately I sent my gifts home with my parents because we were headed out for some drinks afterwards so I have no pictures, but he gave me tickets to see "The Heights" on Broadway for Dec 11th! Very excited about that! Here are some shots of our evening....

After dinner we ventured to the Lower East side to a place called The Back room where they serve drinks in tea cups. Loved it!!

After such an eventful evening John and Q just wanted to lounge around all day on Saturday!

We had such a great time. And thank you again  for all my Bday love on Friday!!! It definitely added to my happiness!! Love you all!!

These are a few of my favorite things.....

Hello world!!! This is my first post, so I thought for the big debut I'd let you in on a few of my most favorite glamorous things, enjoy......

1. SMASHBOX O-GLOSS

This gloss is amazing!! its super shiny and NEVER sticky (bc we all know how un-glamorous is is when your hair sticks to your lips and causes the spider web look that is def never in fashion) while keeping your lips sexy and slick is brightens them by naturally turning them a pinkish color with its Goji Berry-C (whatever that is) complex and Pomegranate. The color your lips turn is different on everyone mine is like a light cranberry while some are peachy. It's very scientific!

2. Ornate tea cups -

Why should anyone subject themselves to using a "mug" that says "worlds best fill in blank" ?? if your one who loves to host (like yours truly) you'll get yourself a set of some really chic tea cups. The one in the image is from Anthropologie and I have all 5 colors and while they are absolutely gorgeous they are seriously WAY too small for sipping anything. I wish I had known that before I ordered all 5, but anyway that's OK bc I'm a lover of thrift stores and I scored a few sets for less than $10 that are just as precious! I feel so special whenever I use them and so do my guests...it's OK if you mix and match sets too! That always makes it more glam!

3. Cupcakes  -
Anyone who knows me knows these are my obsession!! i LOVE LOVE LOVE cupcakes! But not just Any cupcake, glamorous in flavor cupcakes. I LOVE treating people to special tasty treats and it's usually a cupcake of some original flavor from cookies and cream, mudslides, SAMOAS (theses are the favs of many) and even Pina Colada (my personal fav) along with many other flavors, recipes may be posted later....if your lucky

4. Mirrored Furniture  - 
I'm obsessed with that whole Hollywood Glam look. Chandeliers and Dramatic Chais lounges, my entire apartment is adorned in this look. Mirrored furniture really takes this look to a whole other level. It just SCREAMS glamour. Most mirrored furniture is super expensive but I just had to have at least one piece so I bought this vanity from JC Penny (of all places!!) the price was so right at $300.00 esp since it was on sale! I use it as a writing desk and my Macbook (which is covered in pink Swarofski crystals of course) sits so perfectly on top!

5. Buttoned Vanity Chair -
OK so if your going to get the mirrored vanity you need the Glam chair too!!! how could I resist! I love that its pink. It adds such a girlie feminine touch!  Also from Jc Penny!
